On the evening of Wednesday January 22nd 1873, a ship rests at anchor in calm seas, two miles off the Kentish shore.
On board are three hundred and seventy nine men, women and children, mostly emigrants traveling to Tasmania to construct the railway line.
Before midnight on that fateful day, the ship would lie on the sea floor and 320 souls would perish.
Join us to hear the story of the Northfleet as told by some of the named survivors of this tragedy.
