Spotlight Sing-around with Simon Denbigh
Friday 10th March

Simon Denbigh started writing songs and playing his flute with bands around the clubs in Shropshire and Worcestershire in the late 1970s. Commitments with work and family did not see him playing again until he retired, re-emerging in 2016 writing his quirky lyrics, firstly to other people’s chords and latterly his own.

A regular at Redbourn Folk Club, he has built a repertoire of over sixty songs. Whilst his early songs still surface from time to time, he makes a point of writing songs for people of his generation and the joys of being that bit older. He is fascinated by misheard lyrics and will often go for them on purpose, and he enjoys a terrible pun, and a pint.

It is always a special treat to hear Simon perform and we look forward to his two twenty-minute sets on March 10th.
