Nigel has a rich background as a folkie. He has a large repertoire of traditional songs, and his unaccompanied singing is deep, resonant and heartfelt. Nigel also performs many of his own songs, including the award-winning, ‘Bricks’. As well as singing solo, and with Mandy, Nigel regularly performs a mixture of traditional music and Americana with his trio, ‘The Moorcrofters’. Nigel has been a Morris dancer for many years and is currently the squire of St Albans Morris. He has recently started to branch out into musical theatre, with the Kings Langley Musical Theatre Company. Nigel has run the Watford Song Competition for several years and is also part of the Watford Open Mic team.
Mandy has had a background in folk music and choral singing from an early age, through which she displays her pure soprano voice. She has a particular interest in vocal harmony and enjoys arranging songs and making music with family and friends. Mandy’s main instrument is the guitar, although she sometimes plays ukulele, shruti box, whistles and harmonicas out of the house. In the house, Mandy has a larger collection of instruments, most of which she can spell, and some of which she can play. Mandy was recently a judge for the Watford Song Competition. Mandy currently sings with St Albans Chamber Choir, the Markyate Evensong Choir and the Orchard Singers.
