
We are really excited to welcome Damien Barber to Watford Folk Club on September 19th as our first guest of the new season.
Damien is a stylish and distinctive singer, either a capella or accompanied on guitar or concertina and is one of the most respected folk performers in the UK.
He is the epitome of a traditional folk singer, having learnt his trade directly from some most respected singers in the UK such as Peter Bellamy and Walter Pardon, and brings real authenticity to his performances. Though he has now resided for some time in West Yorkshire, his roots remain firmly planted in his beloved East Anglia.

Probably one of the busiest performers on the folk circuit, he is known in recent years for his critically acclaimed stage shows ‘The Demon Barbers XL’ ‘The Lock In’, creating the ground-breaking Folk & Hip Hop dance company ‘Breaking Tradition’ in 2005 ,performing with Mike Wilson as a duo, along with creating a new 4-piece ensemble, Damien & The Omen and solo singing the traditional songs of East Anglia that ignited his passion in folk music.
